Shelby Jean Casey

Funeral services for Shelby Jean Casey, age 84 will be held on Thursday May 5, 2022 at 12 p.m. at Hunt Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Don Dyer officiating. Burial will follow at Pounds-Idlewild Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Casey a retired factory employee was born in Gibson Co. Tennessee on December 19, 1937 to the late Wheeler Samson and Norma Helen Williamson Pratt, and passed away Tuesday May 3, 2022 at Douglas Nursing Home.

She is survived by three daughters Deborah (Gary) Matthews of Carrollton, Georgia, Donnah (Terry) Mithcell of Bradford, Tennessee, Dana Johnstone of Bradford, Tennessee, one brother Lynn Pratt of Bradford, Tennessee, five grandchildren Lee Lyner, Casey Mitchell, Quenton, Mitchell, Chris (Kristy) Johnstone, Jeremy (Ashley) Johnstone, give great grandchildren Jordan Elliott, Zachery Elliott, Macy Johnstone, Carter Johnstone, and Rhett Johnstone.

Ms. Casey is preceded in death by her husband Frank Casey, two sibling that died at birth, two sister, Shirley Pratt, and Judy Cooper.

She was member of the First Baptist Church of Bradford.

I knew Shelby from being friends with her daughter Dana Johnstone.Shelby was a wonderful woman who loved her children more than life. Rest In Peace sweet lady.

I remember Mrs shelby coming in the nursing home with her daughter she was awesome did most her care on her on after I got know her better I felt in love with her just like a mother when she got sick I prayed lord let her get better for a while she was back to her self but the last time I see that she was fired and I didn't want her to go but I know God need her more going to miss her so much that empty in my heart just like I going to my job taking care of my mom love you miss Donnah
