Betty P. Lloyd

Mrs. Betty P. Lloyd, age 91, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, October 13 at NHC Columbia.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 17 at 2 P.M. at Hunt Funeral Home in Bradford, Tennessee with Brother Ernest Pounds officiating.  Family will visit with friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M.

Betty was born on April 12, 1927 in Bradford, Tennessee.  She was the daughter of the late Jim and Epple Peevyhouse.  She was married for 44 years to the late Johnnie Ray Lloyd who preceded her in death in 1988.

She worked for Bank of Bradford for 10 years and West Tennessee Telephone Company in Bradford for 30 years.  She retired in 1985.

Betty moved to Columbia, Tennessee in 1999 and was a faithful member of the Highland Church of Christ.  She enjoyed meeting new people and sending cards to the sick and shut in.  She was an astute Bible student who loved the Lord and His Word.  She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Betty is survived by her sons David (Linda) Lloyd of Danville, Virginia and Bob (Rene’) Lloyd of Columbia; grandchildren:  Shelley (Bryan) Snead, R. C. Lloyd, Emily (Ryan) Fowler, and Laura Beth (Pablo) Varela; great grandchildren:  Natalie Snead, Cora Fowler, and Bayleigh Fowler.

Along with her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her brother James Peevyhouse and sister Maxie Taylor.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
